Seeker Fishing Rods was founded in 1988 in the City of Long Beach.  In 1993, the company was acquired by Parrish Enterprises of Enid, OK.  The principles of Parrish chose industry leader Joseph Pfister to develop and execute a plan for the growth of the brand and company.  Mr. Pfister quickly streamlined operations, made adjustments to the production of the product to better meet the needs of the customers, and most importantly positioned the Seeker brand name as a leader in the saltwater fishing rod market.

For 18 years, Joe led the team at Seeker through the ebbs and flows of the industry.  With markets continually expanding and contracting, it required all of his experience and knowledge to keep the company moving.  After a long tenure at the head of Seeker Fishing Rods, Joe chose to make room for a successor and the search began for a suitable replacement.

A long time acquaintance of Joe’s, Darin Dohi, threw his name into the hat.  He had been involved with the fishing industry on several occasions and in many different capacities.  He began his fishing career in retail, served as a rep for a young and upcoming brand, and stayed close to his many friendships in the tackle industry.  His connections, business knowledge and expertise, and his experience in the tackle business as well as having been a 30-year veteran of custom rod building made him the right choice for the team at Parrish.

Mr. Dohi was brought aboard in June of 2011 where he, like Joe before him, evaluated the operations of the company, the branding, and of course the sales.  What he found was a fantastic opportunity to lead the company into its next season with enthusiasm, energy, and innovation.

The Seeker Fishing Rod Company is a “Made in America” brand where 100% of all Seeker composite blanks are built in-house in Long Beach, CA.  Each rod is taken from flat raw material and through a series of processes is turned into a fishing rod blank of ultra-high quality.  Each Seeker finished rod is assembled by specially trained assembly technicians.  Whether it is the handle building stage, the wrapping, or the finishing, each step is taken carefully and by hand.  The team at Seeker is responsible for manufacturing the highest quality fishing rods available.
